New system will enable the IAF’s F-15s, F-16s to train with Lavi jets

A new version of a training system called EHUD, which was acquired by the Israel Air Force, will enable F-15 and F-16 jets to simulate combat  with Lavi training jets, used by cadets.

Excerpt from my story for Jane’sMade by IAI’s Malam division, the EHUD pods help air-to-air combat training by producing flight data that can be used to work out whether missiles would have hit their targets if they were launched.

The EHUD training system is the standard for NATO air forces. IAI has delivered more than 1,000 to various clients.

Its arrival in the IAF means F-15s and F-16s will be able to perform red team (simulating the enemy) training  with the cadets.
